Features Introduced on Facebook and Instagram for the Protection of Minors. The world's largest social networking site, Facebook, and the social sharing application Instagram have introduced various features for the protection of minors.

According to a statement issued by Meta, now any unknown person cannot send messages to children under the age of 16 or 18.

Previously, under the mentioned feature, individuals under the age of 19 could not send messages, but now this has been further amended to limit it to individuals aged 16 to 18.

In many countries worldwide, individuals under the age of 16 are considered minors, while in countries including Pakistan, the legal age for minors is 18. Therefore, Facebook and Instagram have also made adjustments accordingly.

Now, any unknown person cannot send personal messages to anyone between the ages of 16 and 18.

Similarly, any child aged 16 to 18 cannot send messages to their peers, and this setting has been set as the default, meaning there is no need to change privacy settings.

Additionally, Facebook and Instagram have introduced several other features for the protection of minors, giving parents the option to keep an eye on their children's accounts.
