Professor dies of heart attack during lecture on good health. An Indian Institute of Technology professor died of a heart attack while giving a lecture on good health in India. According to Indian TV channel NDTV, Sameer Khandikar, Dean of Student Affairs at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, was giving a lecture on good health.
While addressing the former students of the institute, he was telling them to take care of their health when suddenly he started sweating and fell on the dais. Another professor from IIT Kanpur, Khandikar, told the Press Trust of India (PTI), "Professor Khandikar was suffering from high cholesterol for 5 years."
He further informed that Prof. Sameer Khandikar was Dean of Student Affairs and Head of Mechanical Engineering Department.
On X (Twitter) he wrote 'Unbelievable, saddened by the sudden death of Professor Khandikar. He was a warm and loving companion and our prayers are with his family at this difficult time.'
Karandikar has said that the last rites of his father will be performed on the return of Prof. Sameer Khandikar's only son Puroh Khandikar, who is studying at Cambridge University.
Prof Sameer Khandikar's body will be kept at IIT's healthcare center until his son returns from Cambridge University.
