European Union Announced Action Against X


The European Union has announced action against social media platform X (Twitter) owned by Elon Musk. X will be investigated by the European Commission for violations of the Digital Services Act (DSA). 


The European Commission's Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton, said in an X post that the social media platform did not ensure the transparency of advertising and failed to prevent illegal content, while X's misleading design An investigation will also be conducted regarding. 


In this regard, the statement issued by the European Commission said that X's community notices feature will be evaluated to determine whether it is effective in preventing threats to the electoral process and civil debate. 


It should be noted that in February 2023, all such online services operating in the European Union were declared as Very Large Online Platforms (VLOPs) with more than 150 million European users.
