A picture of Grace Shimshek, a 24-year-old woman from Michigan, receiving her graduation degree with her newborn daughter, has gone viral.

In a photo that went viral on social media from the convocation ceremony of Grace Shimshek, she can be seen in her graduation gown holding her newborn daughter to her chest.

"I worked hard for this degree and I wanted to attend the convocation ceremony with the rest of my class, so I brought my newborn daughter with me to the ceremony," says Grace Shimshek.

This viral picture is being liked by social media users and the high spirit of the brave American woman is being appreciated.

"I hope my initiative will encourage other mothers to go back to school and get an education," she said.

According to international media reports, Grace Shimshek was originally due to give birth to a daughter after Kwan's graduation ceremony on December 15, but unexpectedly, her daughter Annabelle was born ahead of schedule on December 6.
