Smartphone Giant Samsung Rolls Out Call Recording Feature Through Software Update
South Korean multinational company Samsung, renowned for its smartphones, has introduced the call recording feature in Galaxy Samsung S24 and other Galaxy phones via a software update.
Criticism and Legal Implications
The call recording feature has been previously introduced by various companies, inviting criticism from certain quarters. However, Samsung has now also presented this feature through software updates.
In its updated software OneUI 6.1, Samsung has introduced the voice-over Wi-Fi call recording feature. Users can now record calls only when their mobile is connected to the fastest Wi-Fi.
Under this feature, users of new Galaxy phones including Galaxy S24 can record their voice and video calls. However, they will need to make changes in the phone settings to enable call recording.
Samsung might face criticism for introducing the call recording feature, as recording video or audio calls without someone's consent is considered unethical and illegal by most individuals.
It is anticipated that Samsung might encounter legal actions in multiple countries due to the introduction of this feature.
