Elon Musk: Patient Fully Healthy, Controlling Computer Mouse with Brain

Elon Musk, owner of Neuralink, claims that the first person implanted with the company's chip in the brain is fully healthy and can control a computer mouse with their mind.

In a SpaceX event on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Elon Musk stated, "The patient, seemingly fully recovered from neurological effects, can now move the mouse on the screen just by thinking."

Elon Musk mentioned that Neuralink is now working on enabling the patient to click with their mind.

Successful Installation of "Telepathy" Chip

After obtaining approval for human trials last year, Neuralink successfully installed a "telepathy" chip in a patient's brain last month (whose identity was not disclosed).

Using Neuralink's technology, surgery installs a brain-computer interface in the brain where the purpose of movement is controlled.

This system consists of a computer chip attached to a thin, flexible thread connected to the brain via a robot.

Parts of the skull are removed, electrode-like wires are attached to specific parts of the brain, tanks are placed in the skull, and only a mark remains where the skin is cut.

Elon Musk stated that this procedure takes place within 30 minutes and does not require general anesthesia, with the patient being sent home the same day.
