The OnePlus Watch 2 comes with several upgrades compared to its predecessor, which debuted in India in 2021. These upgrades include extended battery life, improved design, enhanced features, and compatibility with Google's latest Wear OS 4.
Design and Build Quality Inspired by OnePlus 12 Series
Influenced by the design of the OnePlus 12 series, the latest OnePlus Watch 2 features a 2.5D sapphire crystal cover and a chassis built from American military standard MIL-STD-810H stainless steel. The new smartwatch also boasts IP68 water and dust resistance, weighing around 49 grams without the strap and close to 80 grams with the strap.
Display and Performance
The OnePlus Watch 2 is equipped with a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a peak brightness of 600 nits. Powering the latest smartwatch is Qualcomm's Snapdragon W5 SoC paired with the BES 2700 MCU Efficiency chipset. According to OnePlus, the Snapdragon chipset handles power-intensive tasks such as handling Google apps, while the efficiency chipset is utilized for background activity and basic functions.
As referenced before, the OnePlus Watch 2 suddenly spikes in demand for Google's Wear operating system 4 and is matched with 2GB of Smash and 32GB of stockpiling.
Battery Life and Charging
The OnePlus Watch 2 boasts a 500mAh battery, which purportedly offers up to 100 hours of battery life in 'smart mode' and up to 48 hours in 'heavy usage.' OnePlus claims that the watch can be fully charged in 60 minutes using a 7.5W VOOC fast charger.
