Toxic Plastic Particles in Foods

Revelation of the Presence of Toxic Plastic Particles in 90% of Foods. A new study has revealed the contamination of alternative foods based on meat and plants with fine plastic particles, which are linked to cancer.

In the research, scientists studied 16 types of proteins and found that regardless of how humans obtain protein, plastic is becoming a part of their bodies. These foods included chicken nuggets, beef steak, fish fillet, and burgers made from plants.

Ninety percent of the items studied contained nanoplastic particles, causing scientists to be concerned that they may contribute to unknown health issues by accumulating in the human body.

Among the items studied, sirloin steak had the highest concentration with 90 particles of rubber, while beef samples from two plant-based products contained 40 and 25 rubber particles.

According to experts, these fine particles are associated with cancer, heart disease, dementia, and infertility.

Researchers believe that these foods are contaminated during the production, distribution, and packaging processes by the tools and ingredients used or airborne particles.

Dr. Bretta Bachelor, Associate Director of Ocean Conservancy, a non-profit organization, said that this is a concerning warning for us about the extent of plastic pollution. It seems that no matter what we eat, we cannot escape its impact.

She emphasized that the crisis of plastic pollution is affecting everyone, and we need to take steps to combat it in various ways.
