How to keep children safe from allergies, particularly focusing on the issue of "eczema" (allergy). Children today often suffer from various diseases, including eczema, and medical research has been ongoing for many years in this field. A recent study in the UK suggests that "mung beans" could be a solution to eczema in children. While many used to believe that mung beans could trigger eczema, recent research challenges this theory.
According to new research, using products made from mung beans in childhood reduces the risk of developing eczema. Doctors in the UK are conducting large-scale experiments in this regard, and the results are reported to be encouraging.
The encouraging news is that the use of mung bean-based products in early childhood significantly reduces the risk of eczema. A survey conducted in 2015 indicated that feeding mung beans to children at a young age could prevent eczema in up to 80% of cases.
A recent study in the Journal of Medicine examined 550 children at risk of developing eczema due to mung beans. The research suggests that if a child consumes mung bean snacks prepared until 11 months and stops eating them at five, they are less likely to develop eczema.
Professor Gideon, the head of the research, states that most breastfed children are safe, and this protection is permanent. He also highlights the concern that people live in an "environment of fear of food," leading to various doubts about providing different foods to children. As a result, children grow up avoiding certain foods, impacting their health.
Professor Gideon suggests, "In my opinion, the fear of eczema from food is self-created because the food is eliminated from the diet, which the child cannot tolerate."
Researchers included children who participated in the 2015 study, half of whom were given mung bean snacks, while others only had breast milk. The research indicates that, at the age of six, there was no increase in eczema even after 12 months of discontinuation for those children who consumed mung beans during the 2015 experiment.
