Daily Consumption of Three Cups of Tea May Slow Aging

Three Cups of Tea

Daily consumption of three cups of tea may slow aging, research suggests. A study suggests that drinking three cups of tea daily can potentially reduce the rate of aging.

According to Chinese researchers, the polyphenols, theanine, and caffeine present in black and green tea can help mitigate damage to cells, keeping organs active in the long run and contributing to positive effects on the aging process.

In the study, individuals who consistently consumed tea showed the most benefits, and adopting this habit was observed to improve overall health.

Dr. Yi Shiang from Sichuan University stated that researchers observed in the study that the daily consumption of three cups of tea could provide benefits against aging. This is attributed to the presence of multiple bioactive compounds in tea.

Previous research has also indicated that tea consumption can reduce the risks of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

Tea contains polyphenols, powerful antioxidants that can help prevent nerve diseases like cancer and dementia.

The latest research published in the Elsevier Journal explores how this beverage affects the process of aging.

Researchers studied data from 5,998 individuals aged 37 to 73 from the UK and 7,931 Chinese individuals aged 30 to 79. The study inquired about the tea intake (green tea, oolong tea, and traditional black tea) of these individuals. Subsequently, the study analyzed their vitamin D levels through a specific blood test and determined their biological aging.

The findings indicate that daily tea consumption, especially three cups a day, could have a significant impact on slowing down the aging process.
