Jobs Affected By AI

Approximately 40 percent of jobs can be affected by artificial intelligence. The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, has suggested that artificial intelligence (AI) could impact 60 percent of employment in advanced economies, while worldwide, around 40% of occupations could be impacted by artificial intelligence.

During an interview before participating in the World Economic Forum in the Swiss city of Davos, Georgieva referred to the IMF's report, stating that AI will have a significant impact on 60 percent of jobs in advanced economies and some emerging markets.

According to international news agency AFP, she mentioned that this technology could affect up to 40 percent of global employment, with a potential impact of 40 percent on developing markets and up to 26 percent on low-income countries.

According to the report from the International Monetary Fund, half of the jobs affected by artificial intelligence will face negative consequences, while the remaining half may benefit from increased productivity skills.

Georgieva noted that AI could either lead to the complete elimination of jobs or enhance job roles, resulting in increased income. She emphasized that the digital transformation and cross-border transfers of capital could widen income disparities between countries.

The report also highlighted that older employees are at a higher risk due to AI, prompting the IMF to consider policies to address these concerns.

Georgieva stated that special attention should be given to supporting low-income countries so that they can seize opportunities arising from artificial intelligence.

The rapid growth of artificial intelligence worldwide is causing concerns among people about the potential risks to their jobs. Last year, the American news agency CNN reported that artificial intelligence could replace 300 million jobs globally.
