Smoking Shrinks The Brain

Smoking Shrinks The Brain, Scientific Evidence Has Revealed. According to a recent study, it has been revealed that smoking has a detrimental effect on the size of the brain due to which it shrinks in size. This finding highlights the negative effects of smoking on cognitive health and highlights the importance of quitting this harmful habit.

A recent study conducted by researchers at Washington University School of Medicine has revealed a study regarding the effects of smoking on the human brain. The study highlights that people who engage in the habit of smoking experience a significant reduction in brain size over a long period.

Decreased brain size is associated with several cognitive problems, including but not limited to dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Additionally, the study results show that although quitting smoking can cause further damage, the part of the brain that has already suffered damage is not able to regenerate.

Before that, experts knew about the harmful effects of smoking on the lungs. However, there was limited understanding of its effects on the brain.

The research findings have recently been made available to the public through the publication of a comprehensive report in the prestigious journal Biological Psychiatry: Global Open Science.
