Preventing increased migration in the EU, agreement on key principles in Parliament and Council. Major principles were agreed in the political agreement between the European Parliament and the Council on the Pact on Migration and Asylum for a common system on migration issues and to control the increasing speed of migration in the European Union.
The following major principles have been agreed under this agreement.
(1) Create uniform rules for the identification of non-European citizens upon their arrival in the Schengen area
(2) To develop a common database with more accurate and complete data collection for detection of unauthorized movements
(3) making asylum, return and border procedures faster and more efficient;
(4) To establish a new mechanism of solidarity between Member States to balance the existing system of asylum migration management and to establish clear rules on responsibility for asylum applications.
(5) under the Crisis and Force Majeure Regulation to ensure that the EU is prepared to face any future migrant crisis situations;
According to the European Commission, after this preliminary agreement, once the proposals are formally approved by the European Parliament and the Council, they will immediately enter into law.
It is said that it took three years to reach this consensus. Because it aimed to find long-term and sustainable solutions for migration management.
After the deal was agreed, European Commission President Ursula Vanderleen said that the European Union is a strong community capable of finding the best answers to the major challenges it faces.
